Jacob Burt - Theme - Icon

Hello Everyone, 

Sorry for late posting, but I needed to arrange a time to get a shoot with the car. So for my icon shoot I chose to take chance and shoot a James Dean inspired Photograph. I did some research and took major aspects of his life and make them apparent in my picture. I used the same Porsche that he owned (and died in), I had my model wear black, and lastly I incorporated smoking something he was fairly known for doing. I tried to get the feel of the age and of James Dean.
Well I guess thats it, cant wait to get some feedback. Thank you.

Meagan Christou - Fantasy

There are spaces in our lives that can transport us into another realm. Often these are magical places to us, no matter their actual location. This room was from my childhood home where I grew up, looking from the kitchen into the dining room. I adored the floor length curtains and often would picture myself in a royal palace. 


I choose the black and white because of how abstract it makes the space feel. The fogging and cross hatched texture was NOT done in post, rather this 4x5 negative went through some peculiar changes during development.

So... Apocalyps

This is the stuff I do, when I am not doing work that is required of me... 

I personally prefer image 2 but thought it best to put the first one up as well. 

 Avoiding the thought of elves and pixies, or sex... I thought it best to push into the idea of fantasy as an everyday occurrence. 

I procrastinate a lot and the result is stress. When buried in work and due dates - usually of my own doing - I pull one of those scrubs moments where I imagine (or fantasize) the worst possible thing that could happen. The benefit: no work or due dates, the loss: well... I am ultimately dead...

exploring different kinds of beauty (flowers, human body, attraction etc+), which often can be tied with shame and/or feeling shameful.
(side note: jock sturges is an amazing photographer and it's worth the five seconds to google if you don't know him/his work. i'm not trying to emulate, nor was i particularly inspired by his work for this, but i was by the quote alone. :) 

Alex Pennington - Shame

Shame is a  painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. We tend to look up to a set of rules and morals in order to reflect on our own wrong doings. Who is to say whether we are right or wrong? This photo symbolizes the point of that self reflection.
