Theme #5 Fantasy - Gina Staios

Hey everyone!!
So for fantasy, the first thing I thought of to photograph are the Scarborough Bluffs. The landscape and atmosphere always felt so fantasy-like to me, especially when I went there for the first time.

I originally wanted a sunset in this shot but the weather these past couple of days was a butt so I had to deal with the clouds :( But I like the way they look in this photo.
Thant's all :)

Shame - Gina Staios

Hi everyone!!

So, after much thought of what things are shameful, I decided to shoot something revolving around litter. There are so many times where I would pass by a park and I would notice litter nearby a trash can. It always bugged me how these people could be so lazy to throw out their trash when there's a trashcan right there! Or when you're in a beautiful area and you wonder how people leave their trash there.
So yeah, this is the photo I decided to shoot! :)

Gina Staios - Icon

Hello everyone!!
So, when I thought of an icon, the first thing that popped in mind are religious icons. In my kitchen, there's an area in an above corner where our icons are placed. So I thought this would be the perfect place to use for this theme. :)

Gina #2 Exotic

Since the word exotic can mean anything out of the ordinary, I decided to do a still life type of picture with items that are related to Greece (where my parents are from). I used a jewellery box with a Greek type painting, old pictures of my mom from Greece, a Greek necklace sports type thing (why am I forgetting the name?) and an evil eye bracelet. :)

EDIT: Ah, maybe I should have mentioned that the blue gradient was intentional, haha.

I decided to use a slow shutter speed during darker hours to make the lights stand out more. For example, the bright lights next to the building are the cars in the driveway.
I overlapped the two images over each other to give an interesting effect. Even though the part of the "M" is fully illuminated with ghostly lighting, it is still obvious that it is from McDonalds, thus showing how accustomed we are to this particular fast food chain.  :)
