Cool idea! Your image is really crisp and appealing to look at, despite the icky McDonalds haha. (Goal accomplished?) I like the crop of the 3rd image but the positioning of the plate in the 1st image is more appealing to me. Although the first image makes the plate look like it's falling through space which is cool... I think this image could be even more interesting (potentially) with the McDons left under the plastic wrap? Might be harder to photograph? Could be something to play with at least!
Thanks Meagan, I did try putting the wrap over top of it, but it wasn't really photographing well. Seeing as I do have the food I will probably try this again next week. Added bonus, the food will be even more disgusting that way!
i love this, jes! i think option 3 is the best one. the square crop nicely contrasts the circle plate, and the plastic wrap adds such a lovely effect. it's almost like water. and the pure black makes it look like it's just floating, which adds to the focus. i looked at it in large, and was wondering if you did any post to it? (besides cropping, of course). i think if you upped the contrast (and brightness with it), it'll bring out the colours and depth. alls i got for you! x
I don't know if this makes me hungry or reminds me (as Supersize Me did--for a short time) how blah McDonalds is. Probably the second followed immediately by the first. I like the Square edit by far, for its (as Carrie stated) contrast with the circular subject, but mostly for the way you placed the food on the plate.
The other images seem to add a tension though and at first I couldn't put my mind to was causing it. Then I realized that I was worried that the fries were going to fall out of the image: with the fist image especially. I think its because the back ground is so void like that the mind assumes that the fries would disappear into oblivion if they were to fall off the plate.
Over all, I like the third best and am undecided about the tension with the first and second. (is the tension good or stressful -- maybe I am just hungry...) Anyway, I like it and good Job. ;D
Woah! Before I read the description, I thought you somehow managed to splash fast food in water! Haha! I definitely like the square crop out of all the rest! The different shapes are very interesting!
Nice! Have you thought about cropping it to a square? It would cut out all the unnecessary space and might resolve this issue.

I just added a square one to the bunch just for more possible feedback on that option. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Hey Jes! My favorite is the 2nd photo. I love the crop. I especially love the plastic wrap and the black background. Awesome concept!
