Jes Cervoni - Exotic (yeah thats right)

So this may be a bit late, but just a bit.

My lighting is horribly uneven in both unfortunately, and I may have time to quickly re-shoot it this week. The premise is that the habitat they are placed in is exotic to them (not sure what a gold fish's natural habitat would be though).

The fish is named Ziggy, because he is orange, he also has a gold fish friend named Freddie. They are underwater, therefore, "Under Pressure". Obviously I thought this was hilarious. You should also know that Ziggy is alive and well.

  1. are you trying to show them together or are you trying to choose one to represent the theme? if you're going to do them together, id suggest putting them side by side or one on top of the other. you're right about the evident uneven lighting on them but if you were to choose just one i think the 2nd one works better. The tint of the water in the second one is very exotic looking to me, reminds me of the ocean. i love the simplicity behind this but it still gets the theme across!

  2. I'm glad Ziggy survived this shot! Haha!!

I really think both images work although I think the shadows on the flowers in the second image make them stand out more. But in the first, I like that position of the fish. Ir creates a sort of tension for me because it hasn't passed by the flower stem unlike the second image.
Okay, I've decided I like the first image more then :D

  3. Hey Jess!

I think I prefer the 1st image, just because I think the atmosphere works better with the clear water. I like how the fish is in the glass instead of a traditional goldfish bowl.

  4. Hey Jess,

I like the idea a lot. I think that you've got two cool images here, but what would really do it for me is if you had the colour of the water a slightly more subtle blue, and perhaps used a more dramatic lighting technique.

    1. I'm a mess when it comes to lighting, but I do think I want to re-shoot this and I'll definitely try that, thanks!
