Gina #2 Exotic

Since the word exotic can mean anything out of the ordinary, I decided to do a still life type of picture with items that are related to Greece (where my parents are from). I used a jewellery box with a Greek type painting, old pictures of my mom from Greece, a Greek necklace sports type thing (why am I forgetting the name?) and an evil eye bracelet. :)

EDIT: Ah, maybe I should have mentioned that the blue gradient was intentional, haha.

  1. I like the idea of it, getting back to the roots baby. The whole photo has a very blue tint to it, and it takes away from the two blue objects that you have in the shot quite a bit. Theres also a bit of a double shadow there. Did you maybe take any other shots from different angles? Because I'd be curious to see what those look like as well. I really like the idea, and good shot Gina! :)

  2. I like your idea i think the only issue i have is its a little cool. Maybe a warmer lighting would give more of feel of being exotic, thats all :P
I like the idea though for sure :)

  3. Cool idea. I think you could get really messy with this photo (in a good way). I would take a whole bunch of old family relics and photos and lay them all out and maybe photograph them from above? You can really play with this. Here's a cool example: http://blog.gessato.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/all-i-own-sannah-kvist-gselect-gessato-gblog-05.jpg

  4. Love the idea of old pictures! Like Casey said, it might be a bit too cool.

You need to rework it, it's not a great photo. Interesting elements are in the image but you did not take a good photograph of them. The combination of objects is strange...out of context. The framing and composition is awkward. You need to rework it and try another approach.
