Alex Pennington - Exotic

So here is my photo, i had trouble with this theme, apparently, but it got me thinking about foreign and exotic architecutre, do people from away come here and go, "Oh look at this building, the architecture is so exotic don't you think love?, we must tell our friends when they come here to take in the awe inspiring architecture of toronto!"

Also that awkward moment when i come to check if anyone has commented on my photo, only to see that a week ago instead of clicking publish i clicked save. my bad.

love you all oodles.

  1. The lines in this photo are awesome. Architecturally this is awesome. There is one tiny yellow line on the right side of the photograph that is distracting. However, I think this idea is not exotic because of the ARCHITECTURE, but because of the shape that the building creates. The shape almost becomes abstract, which can be foreign to us. ... well, that's how I feel anyways haha.

  2. Yeah, I love the lines in this photo! Very abstract and interesting! I know this was probably out of your control, but I like how the clouds appear more white near the middle and blue on the ends, it adds to the symmetry.
I also like how pictures like this play with our perception. Like is the "fold" pointing inwards or outwards? Kind of like an optical illusion, haha!

  3. I was just about to comment pretty much the same thing as Megan! The lines are very successful, and I love the contrast created by the sky - its organic vs. geometric. I see it more as shapes and lines as opposed to a building. It in itself becomes an exotic and foreign way of looking at architecture.
I much prefer this to your reshoot. its much more interesting and dynamic, and it pulls more at imagination and perception, whereas the other falls slightly flat in comparison.
