Hello all,
I know initially my submission may seem odd, But I suppose that is what this statement is for.
When I first discovered our theme for our second submission was exotic, I thought really hard at what I thought exotic meant to someone raised in a extraordinarily diverse city. I had trouble initially creating an idea. In turn I decided to take a slightly more abstract approach to the theme this time and instead of shooting obvious, I took a look at the subtle exotic objects we wear everyday. The idea was to capture the essence of the exotic locations within their products and industry. A little different then the norm I suppose but I thought it seemed relevant to the theme of what exotic really is.

P.s. I submitted 2 works because they have slightly different cropping and would really love to see which is preferred. Cannot wait to see what everyone has to say!

ReplyDeleteI fucked up. I hate that you can't edit posts. >_>
DeleteHelll yeaaah, I was waiting for this one lol. I really like the first one better, the black lines in between are a bit distracting for me. I also REALLY like how you didn't just take the shots of the tags straight on, but instead decided to go with different angles, and in some they're also slightly obscured, it makes it very interesting. One of my favourite concepts. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteoh my Jacob where ever did someone nuture such a brillant idea!? I love the crop on the second photo the best. Also despise you for own so many amazing designers *shakes fist in anger* Seriously though, so glad you actually decided to do this and it turned out great good job man!

I really like the first one better. I'm agreeing with Jes on the distracting lines. I feel they give a separation to each one. But other than that I really like the idea. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, love this idea. Personally my favourite take on the theme. I would agree that the fist does more for me aesthetically, but the second is not without its charm.
ReplyDeleteI really do not have any suggestions... I really think it is great as it is now. The way you composed each label is interesting and keeps the eyes attentions for each image. The color also contributes greatly to the movement of the eye: I find my eye hopping all over the place with interest. Finally, the theme is amazing because I feel as though you had a clear enough mind to just recognize and understand the theme and how we all relate to it.

Without borders is great.
ReplyDeleteAwesome take on the idea, very direct.
I really don't think you can improve this anymore. This would be a cool project to add to.
Wow, such an interesting idea!! And very different too! I definitely prefer the first image more. But like Jess said, I like how you took the pictures at different angles.
ReplyDeleteI love this! ^^
