Mithila Majithia -- Theme 1: Fast Food.
Hey everyone,
Apologies for the lateness, I thought I scheduled this to post in the afternoon but I guess that didn't work.
I decided to keep it pretty simple and take a look at the literal link between consumption and consumerism within the concept of 'fast' food. I'm pretty sure we've all chowed down on a burger at some point and know exactly how it feels to just want to eat without paying any regard to the downsides of fast food.
Thanks,
Mithila.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea, though I feel like you could have taken it one step further and possibly looked at something like gluttony, or maybe depicted the notion of just wanting to eat by having his fingers not so dainty looking. Other than that, I like the lighting and where you were going with the idea. Possibly change the background colour or the guys shirt to create more contrast? or the white on white could be cool, but possibly show more of it/not cut in so close?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Helen about the dainty/clean look of his fingers. If I were tucking into a burger that fiercely I'd definitely have ketchup running halfway down my hand, a bit of lettuce/pickle in my teeth, and maybe even a fleck of mustard on my cheek...but i've also been known to get spaghetti sauce on my forehead... anyway, all this to say that i think you could get your message across a little clearer with a lot more mess.
ReplyDeleteI like how you can see the torn bit of the skin on his right index finger..somehow adds to the roughness of the moment.

I like this idea but I also agree with the fingers. It reminds me of how in ads, it never really looks like they're holding the burger like how one would hold it... but anyway, I like how you kept it faceless. It gives it more of a relateable feel :)
