A. Sinclaire: Icon

I chose to interpret Icons of beauty. My goal was to create a hellenistic photograph of innocent beauty. Red symbolizes the looming womanhood that surrounds a growing girl. Additionally, she has a Snow White kind of beauty. I think this enhances the purity of a young girl. This girl is an icon of chaste beauty.

  1. I like it, although I think that the contrast could be taken down some and maybe use a hair light to seperate her hair from the background.

  2. I agree with the above comment! and maybe photoshop out her hair elastic on her wrist. also, I'm not quite sure what they are but on the left hand side theres a large black oval it looks like, and then theres another one on the right hand side, but a smaller black dot that I can vaguely see, which are both a little distracting and make my eye wander.

  3. there is the impression that she is floating, which is nice and seems to add to the notion of purity. perhaps less contrast/saturated black in her hair, as already mentioned, and a bit less shadow on her left side?

  4. I agree with all of the comments! Otherwise everything about it looks really good. :) I like what Claire said about the floating - perhaps even play up that idea by having the red material flow down the side of the table, but in a way that it doesn't outline the edge of the table so it still looks like she's floating. Something to play with!

  5. I think the highlights on the skin are far too blown out. I'm also not sure how well this pose/gaze is working...right now it seems a bot awkward and forced.
