anyway.
There is a really funny story as to why i think turtles are Exotic! Last summer when I travelled to Italy to play soccer, we had stayed in a place where we were really close to the beach, and our room had a walk out on the first floor. The morning that me and my teammates had to pack up and leave for home, we decided to run out to the beach for one last time to take some photos -obviously-. I had left my suitcase open so i could throw in last minute things when we ran back. Turns out, a turtle had crawled into my suitcase and hid itself under my clothes, and I had no idea.
SOMEHOW, the turtle survived the entire trip to Toronto which seems completely impossible, but he was a toughie so he did it! -no idea how. So I say my turtle was pretty exotic since he came from Italy.. without permission, pretty much an illegal immigrant turtle. he did end up dying a few weeks later and I bought a new one, which is the one you see here!
PS, his name is "Awkward" .. therefore meet, Awkward Turtle.
feed back would be awesome.
his tank is all set up for another shoot.
such a model.

I took out the "distractions" and made it a bit brighter, anything else?
Such a cute story behind it! Made me smile :) I like the image too! I know its a bit nit-picky BUT edit out that little white dot on the left hand side of the turtle on its shell its kind of distracting! But i like everything else about the image- the composition, colours and main focus.

Absolutely love that story! One thing I would suggest is trying to get rid of the blades of grass that cross over his face. Theres one that's cutting into his bottom jaw, and another going across the top of his head. I find both of those really distracting, though the bit of blur on the edges frame the turtle it nicely. :)

ReplyDeleteThe photographs are pretty weak....I think they need more both conceptually and compositionally.
