Just another option based on what Claire suggested.
Every time I have passed this woman I can't help but feel how perfectly she represents the idea of celebrity and icon in every way. Placed on a pedestal directly in the center of a public area, she's made a spectacle and acts flamboyantly to the liking of the public. Yet, people just pass by her, hardly noticing while she puts on her show, some will stop to take a quick glance and maybe a photo, but she's more of an object than another human being on the street. I even thought the lens flare at the bottom showed a good representation of the withering away of popularity that most public spectacles experience.
yes!
ReplyDelete...this is great jes. her pose, the lighting, the colours, and the burning edge of the lens flare all come together well. you've caught a nice contrast between two different kinds of tacky too...that of the street performer and the even more garish store signage/branding behind her. the fact that her right hand looks like it's about to pat that guy on his round little head just adds to the hilarity.
i wonder if it would be just as strong with a little bit of the white bottom edge cropped away? not sure.

Ah yes that man lol. He was really in focus before too which made it even better, but alas, he didn't make sense so he had to be blurred. I think you're right about the white though, I'll try that out. Thanks Claire! :)
Deleteyes love the 2nd one much better!

I like it! Although I find the man distracting personally.

Delete*I wish you could edit posts but...lol*
DeleteHe is extremely distracting. I'm trying to figure out ways I can make him disappear, but I have a feeling he's there to stay, unless I somehow retake the image, which seems unlikely.
Does photoshop have a magical "man-out" tool I can use? He was much more in focus before too and I had to gaussian blur the whole thing but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions on what I could do?
Have you tried kindly asking him to leave?
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo - and I agree with the crop of the second one. :)
Helen
I like the second one too :) And I like the whole context of it too :)
