I like where you're going with this, though I feel like the image is a little flat. Maybe try shooting with a little more light so you have more options to play with the contrast? The subject fades a little into the background, which contrasts a little weirdly with the strong emotion in the photo. Nice job on how you can see hints of the face though. :)
I personally don't mind the flatness, I think it adds to the idea of shame being hard to pin down. Only thing I'd recommend is bumping the whole thing up a little in brightness and/or exposure.

I agree with Helen. But being able to see a face is very eerie for me. I just wish you'd write about what you were aiming for this photo. :)
